Take applique to a new level using your sewing machine's specialty stitches!
Take applique to a new level using your sewing machine's specialty stitches! Learn machine applique using paper-backed fusible web from this fun and energetic instructor. Cindi will walk you through step by step in the applique process. Students will also use their sewing machine's decorative stitches to create beautiful flowers.
Supplies:
- Paper-backed fusible web
- Light weight tear away stabilizer
- 50 wt thread for piecing
- thread for applique: Rayon, Polyester, Cotton, colors that match your applique fabric
- Applique Pressing Sheet (Optional but Preferred)
- Portable Iron
- Portable ironing pad/board
- Sewing machine in good working order (For 2nd class & 3rd class)
- Universal 80 Needle will work
- Fabric Scissors
- Pencil or Fine Tip Sharpie (for writing on Paper-backed fusible web
- Background: 1/3 yard of 5 graduated shades of fabric
- Applique: Fat Quarters of each of the following solids or small print: Light aqua, Dark aqua, Light orange, Medium orange, Yellow, Light pink, Med pink, Dark pink, Very light green, Light green, Med green, Dark green.
- Sashing: 1 yard
- Border: 1/4 yard
- Binding: 1/2 yard
Second Class: Placement and Stitching. Sewing machine is needed for this class.
Third Class: Putting borders and sashings
Third Class: Putting borders and sashings
Level: Beginner with knowledge of your sewing machine.
