Happy Baby Quilt
Learn to make perfect half-square triangles! We’ll learn all of the quilting basics so that you can completely finish this bright and cheery baby quilt.
Purchase:
- ½ yd of background fabric (white in sample quilt)
- ¼ yd of inner border fabric
- ¾ yd of outer border fabric
- If you have 5 main colors, buy 1/8 yd of of 10 fabrics or use scraps (for example, 2 pinks, 2 greens, 2 yellows, 2 blues, 2 oranges) [If you have only 3 main colors, you’ll need to buy ¼ yd of 6 fabrics (for example, 2 greens, 2 yellows, 2 blues]
- 3/8 yd of binding fabric. (It might be the same as one of your main colors)
- At least 42” x 48” of backing fabric (quilting cotton, cotton flannel or a minkee or cuddle fabric)
- At least 42” x 48” of batting (If you use a minkee or cuddle fabric for your backing, you can omit the batting or simply use a layer of pre-washed cotton flannel.)
Cut before class if you can:
- 40 4” squares of background fabric
- 40 (or more) 4” squares of your main colors
To be cut now or later:
- 4 2” strips of inner border (width of fabric)
- 4 6” strips of outer border (width of fabric)
- 5 2 ¼” strips of binding fabric (width of fabric)
