The (Very) Organized Wallet
Students will assemble this well designed wallet that includes a coin pocket and credit card slots, while learning to encase zipper ends, hide all seams, construct offset pattern pieces, and sewing a gusset.
Class Supplies Needed:
- Pattern: The Organized Wallet, SEW-102
- Two coordinating fat quarters, one dark and one light
- Coordinating zipper with plastic teeth, 9” minimum
- Velcro: 1 piece coordinating ½” or ¾” wide, 2” long
- Interfacing: ¼ yd X 31”, Décor Bond is recommended
- Fusible fleece: 8”x 10 ½” if desired for outer cover
- Matching or contrasting thread – cotton or poly 40 wt, decorative thread can be used for top stitching if desired
- Cutting mat
- Ruler
- Rotary cutter
- Corner turning tool
- Sewing ruler with sliding marker (4-6”)
- #90 Top-Stitching or Microtex needle for your machine
- Pins, extra needles, paper and fabric scissors
- Any other sewing tools you usually use
- Small iron and small pressing surface (like Quilter’s Cut & Press)
