This project is adapted from Joanna Hoffman’s Gnome for the Holidays raw edge applique design.  You must purchase that pattern to use this embroidery design.  Some of the elements of the original design are embroidered fills instead of applique and the design size has been altered slightly to accommodate the size of the embroidery hoops. The finished piece can be fashioned into a wall hanging- a table runner or a pillow – you choose.

Project Requirements

1.        Embroidery machine that is capable of minimum 260mm x 300mm hoop in good working order
2.        260mm x 300mm hoop
3.        Web mesh stabilizer to fill hoop
4.        Fusible backing of your choosing.
5.        2/3 yard background fabric
6.        Fat quarter red fabric
7.        Fat quarter green fabric
8.        Fat quarter grey shirt fabric
9.        Fat quarter white fabric
10.        Scraps yellow fabric
11.        Thread to match fabrics
12.        Black thread for tires, sleds, and Lanterns,
13.        Brown thread for truck rails.
14.        36 in ¼ bias tape
15.        Fabric glue stick
16.        Applique scissors.
17.        Normal  sewing supplies
18.        USB stick - files will be provided in class
