Transitions is a great 2nd quilt for a beginner or just a FUN, FAST quilt for someone who has more experience.  Join us in the class to learn some tricks to make this quilt amazing!

Skills you will learn in this class are:

•        Stitching strips together (no curves!)
•        Pressing seams (not ironing)
•        Cutting blocks from a tube
•        Laying out the top with setting triangles

Supplies:

•        Cutting mat
•        Rotary cutter, either 45 or 60 size with a new blade
•        Iron and pressing mat
•        Thread snips
•        ¼” piecing foot recommended
•        50 wt cotton thread
•        Sewing machine in working order 
•        New needle ( Recommended Universal 75/11)
•        Fabric as indicated on pattern back (pattern is supplied as part of your class fee)

Before Class 1:  This pattern has instructions for 3 sizes of quilts.  Choose the size you wish to make and read through the pattern and highlight the directions for your chosen size.  Choose your fabrics and colors and cut your strips. 

Class 1:  Come to class with your strips cut and ready to sew!  In class we will be stitching strips to make your Color 1 blocks and your Color 2 blocks.  We will also be cutting your blocks from the stitched tubes.  * Homework is to finish making all your blocks.

Class 2:  Come to class with all your blocks cut and your setting triangle fabric.  In class we will be cutting your setting triangle fabric and start to assemble the first few rows of your quilt.  * Homework is to finish your rows of your quilt top

Class 3:  Come to class ready to add borders!  Bring your border fabrics.  In class we will measure your quilt top to get the measurements needed to cut your first border.  We will attach these to your quilt and then measure, cut the outer borders and stitch them on.  We will also talk about backings and the way to piece them. We will also talk about bindings, colors and finishes.  You are then ready to get your quilt quilted!!!!
