  • Scissors
  • thread snips
  • Embroidery CD (FREE with purchase of this class.)
  • Fabric as listed on CD - this will be provided to you prior to class
  • Embroidery thread
  • Bobbin fill
  • Stabilizer as required by pattern
Feb added notes (Be my valentine)  Before class:
  • Students need to come to class with their Main background with their no-show fusible stabilizer applied to the back of their background.  They also should have the material chosen for the heart appliques because after we mark the crosshairs for re-hooping, we start with the embroidery and applique.
  • Materials list:
  • No-show fusible Mesh stabilizer, Medium weight Tear-away stabilizer
  • A Blue-Line pen for marking.  (I love the Sewline Styla blue.)
  • First Step:           In class, we will be marking the top for the re-hooping embroidery. ( I had to adjust the 2A and 2B markings)
  • Second Step:      The pillow top is fairly quickly embroidered.  I treated my fabric for the hearts with Terial Magic to minimize raveling on the edges.
  • Third Step:         Add the borders to the main background.   The borders are pieced and sewn on by your regular machine.  If you wish to quilt your completed top, now is the time.  This can be done at home.
  • I added the ribbons after quilting.  I tacked the ribbons with a short straight stich then tied a bow.
  • To remove any remaining blue line marks, spritz with water.
March added notes (Hoppy Easter):  Before class:
  • Get your fabrics chosen and if you want to be super organized, cut and label.  This pillow has many varying sizes of embroidered blocks.  Students will also learn the techniques to work with glitter sheets.

  • We will be embroidering the blocks.  The bunny ears are done in the hoop except for the top stitching around the edges.

  • We will assemble the top!  To complete the sections ( very will laid out in the directions) you will need some fabric blocks.  Either have them cut before class or bring your fabric and choose and cut as you assemble.  To quilt this pillow, I layered my batting and muslin backing and just stitched in the ditch.

April added notes (Let's go fly a kite)  Before class:
  •  Students need to read the materials list and prepare the fabrics for the flying geese borders and background piece. You will also need an assortment of colors for the kites.
  •  First step: Complete the flying geese borders.  You will need no-show stabilizer and your precut fabrics.
  •  Second step:    Add borders to your background piece.  Press and add a woven fusible stabilizer to the back of your background piece.  We will now mark your top for your re-hooping.  You will need a water soluble pen ( I love the Sewline Styla blue marking pen!). This pattern only needs 3 re-hoopings!
  • Third Step:        Embroidery time:  You can use either no-show mesh cutaway stabilizer or a medium weight tear away, both work.
  •  The above steps can be completed in a one 4 hour class. If you wish to quilt your top, this can be done at home. The embellishments of the rick rack and ribbons can also be added at home.
  •  A quick demo will be done on the best way to attach the rick rack and make the bows.

May added notes (May flowers)Before class:

July added notes (happy birthday) Before class:

You can do this at home to save time in class.)
