Beginning Free Motion

This free motion class is only for Home Sewing (Tabletop) MACHINES.
This is a prerequisite to free-motion club and free-motion thread painting. Learn the basics of free motion and new methods of "moving" your fabric.
Please see staff about appropriate free-motion feet for you sewing machine PRIOR to class.
Supplies for each class listed below:
- Sewing machine in good working order
- free motion feet (floating or spring action)
- extension table if you have one - highly recommended
- Thread snips
- 2 fat quarters (18"x22")- one light colored solid (preferably bella solid), one large print pattern
- 18" x 22" cotton batting
- Quality cotton thread (50 or 60 weight) to contrast fabric, bobbin of a different color
- NEW needle - 80 quilting or 80 topstitch
- Acrylic Ruler (if you have one)
- Marking pen (water soluble or iron erasable - frixon)- if you have one
- paper (unlined preferable)
- 1 permanent pen
- Notepad of writing paper for sketching and notes ( I use a sketch book)
- spray baste your two fat quarters to your batting (18"x22")
