Beginning Hand Embroidery

Learn the basics of hand embroidery.  
Students will learn basic techniques for hand embroidery while creating some of the pages for their sampler book.  Homework will be to work on the COZY BLUE class project (picture at the bottom).

Class Sampler
 

Class time will be to learn each of the stitches on white cotton fabric backed with SF101 stabilizer.  The fabric  items will be provided.  Students will use their hoop, needle and thread from their kit to practice the stitches.  If students would like to make the sample book as shown above and in class, this kit can be purchased.  

Whether you are a beginner or advanced stitcher making an "Embroidery Stitch Book" is a fun & practical way to keep track of all the different embroidery stitches. Master 15 basic Embroidery Stitches while stitching your own reference book. Sampler Kit includes: Cloth, Embroidery Floss, Instruction sheet, and Tulip Embroidery Needle #6.


Supplies:

• CLASS KIT (included as part of your class fee):
  • DIY Embroidery Kit- Cozy Blue  The kit contains a wooden hoop, needle, embroidery floss and instructions to be used in class
  • 1 skein embroidery floss
  • pigma pen (Black)
  • Fat quarter of SF101
  • Aunt Martha's transfer pencils(2)

• Small, sharp embroidery thread scissors with a sharp point.
• Thimble (optional)
• Embroidery Stitch Book kit (optional) - available at The Sewing Circle in class in either pink thread or blue.
