RESCUE ME! Applique quilt blocks of your favorite rescue pets!
This quilt can have as many or few animals in it that you would like!
Come into the store and see the fun animals that have been customized into a work of 3-D art. Don't just fuse and outline stitch your appliques! They need some fun stitching (thread painting), fabric painting (highlights) and adornment (buttons and beads). Make your quilt a work of art!
1 month Prior to class: You will pick the animals you want to work on (we will order specifically the ones you want)
Class 1: Learn how to applique each animal
Class 2: Learn how to "thread paint", highlight and adorn your animals
Prior to class 3: Cut and assemble extra blocks
Bring border fabrics to class ready to assemble (pre-cut width of borders.)
Class 3: Quilt top assembly

For Class 1:
- Sewing machine in good working order with power cord & foot control
- NEW 80/12 universal needle
- Pre-cut prior to class 1: background fabric of each animal block (10” x 10”)
- Animal kits that were ordered for you
- Iron & pressing mat – (we will have some to share in the classroom)
- Best-press – highly recommended
For Class 2:
- Sewing machine in good working order with power cord & foot control
- NEW 80/12 universal needle
- Threads to embellish “thread paint” will be available in class. If you have specific threads you want to use, please bring them.
- Fabric paints will be available in class for “highlighting”
- Buttons & beads for adornment
For Class 3:
- Sewing machine in good working order with power cord & foot control
- ¼” piecing foot
- NEW 80/12 universal needle
- 50 weight thread to match your fabric choice for piecing quilt top
- Cut and assemble “extra block” as described in class 2
- Cut your borders the width as described in class 2
- 45mm rotary cutter with NEW blade
- Iron & pressing mat – (we will have some to share in the classroom)
- Cutting mat & 12” ruler (we will have some to share in the classroom)
