Create your own embroidered journal cover
Create your own embroidered journal cover. Learn some tricks on how to get your embroidery in the absolute correct position and how to finish up the cover in a classy way! - We will PIECE all the fabric and quilt using decorative stitches - ALL IN THE HOOP. Then we will assemble the actual book cover in the sewing mode. Be ready to make lots of these! SUPER fun!
Supplies
- EMBROIDERY machine in good working order with foot control & power cord
- Accessories that came with your machine
- Embroidery Unit
- Largest hoop available - no larger than 360x260
- Fusible batting to fit the hoop
- 80/12 or 90/14 microtex needle
- Thread of your choosing. Sample was made with 40 weight rayon threads
- 5-10 scraps of fabric (all must be 20" x 6")
- Bobbin fill for bobbins (60 weight cotton or polyester)
- thread snips
- 1 fat quarter for inside lining
- 1 fat quarter for inside flaps (or cork minimum 12" x 10")
- 8" x 10" hard-cover Journal provided
- Rotary cutter & ruler (mats are available in the classroom)
- Iron & Pressing mat are available in the classroom
- Best press (your favorite scent) highly recommended
- Wool pressing mat highly recommended
- Thread snips
