Create your own quilt-as-you go and decorative stitch journal cover
Create your own custom journal cover. Learn some tricks on how to quilt-as-you-go and "decorative stitch quilt" and how to finish up the cover in a classy way! - We will PIECE all the fabric and quilt using decorative stitches . Then we will assemble the actual book cover in the sewing mode. Be ready to make lots of these! SUPER fun!
Bring a lunch and your snacks! This is a full day of sewing!
Supplies
- Sewing machine with decorative stitches in good working order with foot control & power cord
- Fusible batting (provided)
- 80/12 or 90/14 microtex needle
- Thread of your choosing. Sample was made with 40 weight rayon threads (provided)
- 10-15 scraps of fabric (all must be 20" x 6")
- thread snips
- 1 fat quarter for inside lining
- 1 fat quarter for inside flaps (or cork minimum 12" x 10")
- hard-cover Journal provided
- Rotary cutter & ruler (mats are available in the classroom)
- Iron & Pressing mat are available in the classroom
- Best press (your favorite scent) highly recommended
- Wool pressing mat highly recommended
- Thread snips
