Adult garment sewing - beyond the basics. (Level3-4)
This class is designed to be a "BEYOND the BEGINNING" Adult/confident Teen class. This is NOT A BEGINNER CLASS.
This class will focus on WOVEN fabrics. NO STRETCH FABRIC patterns (please see our stretch workshops)
You must have some basic sewing knowledge and be comfortable doing some sewing homework. It is designed to help you start a garment from a pattern. With the lack of the "Big 4 pattern companies: Vogue, Simplicity, Butterick & McCalls", finding the correct pattern and getting it printed will take some extra steps. However, we have a few patterns available here in the store to choose from.
Some patterns may need to be printed once purchased from the internet. This may require taking a file to a printer that has access to A0 sized paper (very large). Some mail & copy stores are cheaper when printing the pattern. Instructions can usually be printed on a traditional printer.
Supplies:
- Sewing machine and/or serger in good working order
- Scissors
- pins or clips
- measuring tape
- pattern
- fabric per pattern
- coordinating thread
- notions as dictated by pattern
- pattern ease (optional)
