Strippy Hashtag Quilt

2 ½ inch strips have become a staple in quilting. There are so many great ways to use them,
and this class will explore one of them by making a “hashtag quilt” that can be made either into
a larger top or into two smaller baby quilts. (For this class we will be focused on the smaller
baby quilts)

You can either bring a Jelly Roll to get a head start or let your imagination run by
choosing your own fabric and cutting your own 2 ½” strips. The class fee includes the first
pattern we’ll use, and we are looking for a place to source the full book if you’d like to continue
the adventure! A little extra yardage, a little homework and you’ll be striping with the best of
them! =)

Supplies needed:

• Book:  "Strip your stash" included in class fee
• Fabric Requirements:
• 20 - 2 ½” WOF Strips for Hashtags
• Background Fabric - 4 yards
• Binding Fabric - 5/8 yard
• Backing Fabric 5 5/8 yards
• fabric scissors
• thread snips
• thread to match 
• NEW 80/12 Universal
• power cord
• foot control and other sewing machine accessories
• Sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot control and accessories
• ¼” foot recommended
• rotary cutter, ruler & mat (we have mats to use in the classroom)
• Iron & small pressing mat (we have irons and mats to use in the classroom, however, you may want to bring a SMALL PERSONAL IRON and SMALL PRESSING MAT to use at your sewing station.)
• Personal Best Press spray recommended
