Alice's Wonderland Sampler Quilt
New to Sewing or a Seasoned Quilter?
A sampler quilt is a brilliant way to enhance your sewing skills or simply perfect the ones you already have.
- The early blocks introduce you gently to the basics, as you progress through the book you are guided through more intricate designs as you build your skills
- For more experienced sewers, there is much pleasure to be had in in choosing the perfect fabrics, and much interest to be had in the variety of blocks in this quilt
- This class has 2 sessions each month. 4th Monday of the month is the new lesson instruction and practice. 2nd Monday of the month is a in-class sewing day with help available to work on your blocks.
- Even if you are a seasoned quilter, this class will help you perfect your skills. The objective is to play, learn, have fun!
Supplies:
- Book: Alice's Wonderland Sampler Quilt (included in class Fee)
- Sewing machine in good working order with accessories (power cord, foot control, accessory feet)
- 1/4" piecing foot
- rotary cutter and ruler. (cutting mats available in classroom)
- Scissors & thread snips
- pins and clips
- heat eraseable pen
- Glue pen
- Hand needles
- Iron and pressing spray (like best press)
- 100% Cotton Thread (50 weight)- Aurifil recommended (color to be discussed - neutral light colored - light cream color)
- 75/11 Universal Needles
- 100 pieces of fabric (Fat 1/16th or 1/8th of a yard)
- Background fabric (6 yards)- we will discuss in class. You may not need this much.
Class Outline and Notes:
- 4th Monday of the month - discuss the topic and try it.
- 2nd Monday of the month - work on your blocks. Help will be available in the classroom.
- Each block you make will measure 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"
- You will design the size of your quilt and how it is assembled.
- You will choose your fabrics. It is recommended to use SMALL prints.
