Take-a-stand Supply bag (Level 4 class) -

This class will cover ONLY Take-a-stand.   Running with Scissors will not be covered in this class.  You will learn tricks and tips to make this look amazingly professional!

BOTH patterns are included in your class fee and available when you sign up.
(see supply lists below)

QUILT your fabric prior to class.  You will need 1 1/2 yards quilted fabric for these two bags.  Spray baste and quilt together top fabric, batting and back fabric (NOT CUT UP!).****

SAVE a whole day of quilitng time on your machine (and you won't have to bring 505 spray) by quilting in advance on the longarm at THE SEWING CIRCLE - $25 for the fabric for both.

You pick the thread and the designs!  DO NOT CUT THE QUILTED FABRIC.  You will do this in class

“Please use Soft and Stable  for the batting”

Take-a-stand:  Stand-up Tote Info:

Stand-up totes in two sizes have an easy-to-install zippered top that opens wide for easy access to the contents.

Each Take A Stand tote features an adjustable, detachable carrying strap and plenty of room for supplies and more.

Two zippered pockets on the outside of the tote and two inner mesh pockets keep everything organized and easy to view.

Small: 8-3/4"H x 12"W x 6-1/2"D

Large: 12-1/2"H x 16"W x 8"D

NOTE: The instructions in this pattern include rounding some corners and recommend using a circular object of a specific size. Click below to get PDF templates for circles in the recommended sizes for this pattern and more.

Note from Kristen (instructor):

I figured out that as long as the main fabric and lining fabric are NOT directional that 1 yard of quilted fabric is enough to do both bags.  That assumes 40" of usable fabric.  That also assumes you want to use the same main/lining fabric for both bags.
If you are using the same coordinating fabric for both, a 24" square will make enough bias binding for both bags.  But additional fabric is required for other pieces.  I am not entirely sure how much I needed total; but minimum of 24" and the remaining may be enough for the other pieces.

The small Take A Stand tote make a perfect stand for the Tool Case in our Running With Scissors pattern. Just fold the Tool Case over so that the inner pockets are exposed. Place the Tool Case "billboard-style" over the upright tote. You'll love the stability and easy access to all your supplies. The large tote will hold the Running With Scissors Tool Case and/or fabric, tools, and more.
