Quilt Blocks made in the hoop - totally quilted!
Class 1: Demonstration of how blocks are made. Learn how to create the "quilted-in-the-hoop" block
Homework: Complete the 4 blocks
Class 2: Learn how to join the blocks (2 methods will be shown)
Supplies:
Class sample will be a 4x4 quilt sample with alphabet letters A, B, C & D.
For Class 1: (Embroidering the quilted blocks)
- Embroidery machine in good working order with embroidery unit, 200mm x 200mm hoop, power cord & foot control
- NEW 80/12 quilting needle
- Pre-cut prior to class 1: 12” x 12” blocks (tops should all be one light color. Backs can be anything quiet). You will need a total of 4 tops and 4 backs
- Pre-cut prior to class 1: 12” x 12” batting (please use quality cotton or bamboo)
- 505 spray adhesive
- 40 weight rayon top thread with 3 matching bobbins
For Class 2: (Joining the embroidered quilt blocks)
- Sewing machine in good working order with power cord & foot control – no embroidery unit needed
- NEW 80/12 quilting needle
- Sewing thread to match sashing fabric (quality 50 weight thread)
- 4 blocks completed in class 1 homework
- Cut TWO 2” x WOF (width of fabric) strips for top-sashing.
- Cut TWO 2” x WOF (width of fabric) strips for back-sashing.
- Cut TWO 2” x 40” strips of batting (please cut quality cotton or bamboo)
- Scissors
- 45 mm rotary cutter with new blade
- Cutting ruler (we will provide mats)
