Instructor Bio:
Karen Walker of Laugh Yourself into Stitches,
grew up on a farm in Oregon. As a young girl, she spent days sewing with her grandma, picking strawberries, riding her horse and painting murals on her bedroom walls.
In 1995 she made her first quilt. Using scissors and templates, she completed a turtle quilt for her 5 year old son Tucker. Little did she know there were acrylic rulers and rotary cutters! Once she discovered them, her whole world changed!
In 2010 Karen purchased a longarm and began a small business to help put her sons through college. In 2013, she began designing quilt patterns and has been published in Simply Vintage Magazine and the Fall 2018 cover of Keepsake Quilting catalog.
Precision Piecing or "Piecing Tiny Pieces" as Karen calls it her specialty. She shares her thoughts and tips for successful piecing....but doesn't expect absolute perfection...It?s all about the journey and the joy of creating.
