Twister Advanced - make your own design





This is a "DESIGN" class to help you develop your OWN pattern and quilt.  This is a two part class that will help you develop and make your own custom twister.  You should have taken Beginning Twister before this class or have some experience with the twister tools

Part 1:

  • Cutting mat & acrylic ruler (24” x 6” is recommended)
  • rotary blade cutter
  • thread (50 weight to match the background fabric)
  • scissors (snips for thread cutting)
  • pins or clips
  • Li’l Twister tool - choose the size of tool (you will not need this for the first class).  You will need to decide BEFORE the second class.
    • Primitive Gatherings= 2.25"x 2.25"
    • Mini Twister 2.75" x 2.75"
    • Midi Twister 5" x 5"
    • Twister (BIG) 8" x 8" 
  • Rotary cutter, personal cutting mat
  • Sewing machine in good working order with power cord & foot control
  • 1/4" piecing foot (optional)
  • 50 wt thread to match
  • pins or clips
  • personal iron and pressing mat (we have some you can use in class)
  • scissors (thread snips)
  • embellishments (buttons, beads, ribbon etc ) as described in first class
  • New 75 universal needle
  • Fabric:  Depends on your design.  This will be collaboratively developed in class with your instructor.  If you have a design in mind, you may want to bring fabrics and machine to the first class.

For Part 2, also bring:

  • Fabrics cut and assembled into design as described in class
  • Rotary cutter, personal cutting mat 
  • twister tool
  • Sewing machine in good working order with power cord & foot control
  • 1/4" piecing foot (optional)
  • 50 wt thread to match
  • pins or clips
  • personal iron and pressing mat (we have some you can use in class)
  • scissors (thread snips)
