BOM: Just My Own Modern Dresden Plate

The Dresden Quilt Block gained popularity in America in the 1930's.   The origins of this design is said to have come from Dresden, Germany inspired by baroque art and porcelain designs.

We will reference many sources, but our main text will be Distinctive Dresdens. Each student will choose their own project.  All patterns can be modified to make them simpler or more difficult.

In this class you will learn how adjust patterns to get the quilt size that you want, learn how to make templates, review cutting principles, assemble various border designs. We will also explore different top stitch designs and thread possibilities.

This class will be taught using discussion and demonstration methods.  All sewing will be done at home.  There will be a show and tell segment at the beginning of each class.  It is fun to share because everyone's project is going to different.
