Skills you will learn in this class are:

•        Stitching strips together (no curves!)
•        Pressing seams (not ironing)
•        Cutting blocks
•        Laying out blocks
•        Attaching sashing strips and borders

Supplies:

•        Cutting mat
•        Rotary cutter, either 45 or 60 size with a new blade
•        Iron and pressing mat
•        Large Dresden Plate Template (rule)
•        Thread snips
•        ¼” piecing foot recommended
•        50 wt cotton thread
•        Sewing machine in good working order
•        new needle ( Recommended Universal 75/11)
•        Fabric as indicated on pattern back (pattern is supplied as part of your class fee)

o   1 package of 10” print squares or cut 10” squares from your own fabric choices (40 squares -variety)

Class 1: 

•        Learn the sew & cut method

Homework:

•        Finish sewing 9 blocks (or more if you are making a larger quilt)

Class 2:

•        Arrange blocks
•        Sew sashings
•        Sew center of quilt
•        Sew on borders
